My background story
My name is Justin Ewert and I have been working as a Product Designer over the last 10 years of my career. Prior to designing applications I was a web designer producing online marketing websites for a variety of clients. Back in 2009 I became interested in studying user experinece design principles and how people interact with applications on a day to day basis. So during the winter of 2009 I enrolled in Cal State Fullerton's UX Certificate course and began to explore both UX and Interaction design. Over the years I have built websites and apps for the ticketing industry and for mortgage online services. One of my favorite designer quotes comes from Jon Wiley of Google explaining what makes a good product.
When I think of design and creating great user experiences, I generally think of it in terms of three things: usability, utility and desirability.
Plans for 2021
After a challenging 2020 year I'm looking forward towards learning more product development technologies in 2021. Recently I have been learning CSS Utility frameworks such as Tailwind and Codyhouse. These component libraries have helped me discover Vue.js, a javascript library that helps designers and engineers build complex applications. My goal for 2021 is to learn more about front-end development and utilize that new knowledge to design fun apps that people will enjoy.
